【摘要】:Biodegradationofaplasticwithinahigh-solidsanaerobicdigestionunitisanimportantphenomenonbecauseitwillaffectthedecompositionofotherwastematerialsenclosedbytheplasticandtheresultingqualityandappearanceofthecompostafterananaerobicdigestionprocess.Biodegradationofplasticscouldallowforthesafedisposaloftheseplasticsthroughaerobicandanaerobicsolid-waste-treatmentplants.Thisprocedurehasbeendevelopedtopermitthedeterminationoftherateanddegreeofanaerobicbiodegradabilityofplasticproductswhenplacedinahigh-solidsanaerobicdigesterfortheproductionofcompostfrommunicipalsolidwaste.Limitations8212;Becausethereisawidevariationintheconstructionandoperationofanaerobic-digestionsystemsandbecauseregulatoryrequirementsforcompostingsystemsvary,thisprocedureisnotintendedtosimulatetheenvironmentofanyparticularhigh-solidsanaerobic-digestionsystem.However,itisexpectedtoresembletheenvironmentofahigh-solidsanaerobic-digestionprocessoperatedunderoptimumconditions.Morespecifically,theprocedureisintendedtocreateastandardlaboratoryenvironmentthatwillpermitarapidandreproducibledeterminationoftheanaerobicbiodegradabilityunderhigh-solidsdigestionconditions.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthedegreeandrateofanaerobicbiodegradationofplasticmaterialsinhigh-solidsanaerobicconditions.Thetestmaterialsareexposedtoamethanogenicinoculumderivedfromanaerobicdigestersoperatingonlyonpretreatedhouseholdwaste.Theanaerobicdecompositiontakesplaceunderhigh-solids(morethan30%totalsolids)andstaticnon-mixedconditions.1.2Thistestmethodisdesignedtoyieldapercentageofconversionofcarboninthesampletocarboninthegaseousformunderconditionsfoundinhigh-solidsanaerobicdigesters,treatingmunicipalsolidwaste(1,2,3,4).Thistestmethodmayalsoresemblesomeconditionsinbiologicallyactivelandfillswherethegasgeneratedisrecoveredandbiogasproductionisevenactivelypromoted,forexample,byinoculation(codepositionofanaerobicsewagesludge,anaerobicleachaterecirculation),moisturecontrolinthelandfill(leachaterecirculation),andtemperaturecontrol(short-terminjectionofoxygen,heatingofrecirculatedleachate)(5,6,7).1.3Thistestmethodisdesignedtobeapplicabletoallplasticmaterialsthatarenotinhibitorytothemicroorganismspresentinanaerobicdigestersoperatingonhouseholdwaste.1.4ThevaluesgiveninSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5ThistestmethodisequivalenttoISODIS15985.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsaregiveninSection8.
