【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoversmetalinsertfittingsforpolybutylene(PB)plastictubing.Thesefittingsareintendedforusein100psi(6.9MPa)cold-andhot-waterdistributionsystemsoperatingattemperaturesuptoandincluding180?F(82?C).Includedaretherequirementsformaterials,workmanship,burstpressure,sustainedpressure,temperaturecyclingtests,andmarkingstobeusedonthefittings.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIvaluesstatedinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposes.Thefollowingprecautionarycaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodportion,Section9,ofthisspecification.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandarddescribesproductscreening.Aproperproductscreenisactuallyaprocess,notatest.Asaprocess,itismaintainedandconstantlyvalidatedtoensureitachievesthepurposeforwhichitwasdefined.Thisprocessisappliedtoaproductinordertoinduceproductswithaknownfailuremechanism,tofailinacontrolledsituationbeforetheproductisdeployedinthefield.Ifthisprocessisproperlyapplied,thenallinfantmortalityfailuresinthefield,associatedwiththefailuremechanism(s)forthescreen,willbeeliminated.Figure1showstheclassical"bathtub"three-regioncurveoffailureratesformostproducts.Althoughthefailureratesofpassiveopticalcomponentshavenotbeenconclusivelyshowntofollowthiscurve,itisusefulforillustrativepurposes.Screeningisknownforsomeproductsasaproofstressorinthecaseofelectronics,asa"burn-inprocess".Whenappliedtoaproduct,itwillnormallyaffectthefailurerateappliedduringtheinfantmortalityportionoftheproductlifecycle.Ifthescreenisproperlychosen,itwillinduceaportionoftheinfantmortalityfailurescausedbythechosenfailuremechanism(s)tooccurinthemanufacturingcycle,earlierthanwouldnormallybeseenintheunscreenedpopulationshowninthedashedline.Also,itshouldbenotedthataproperlyappliedscreendoesnotweakenordegradethewear-outorendoflifeperformanceofaproductpopulation.Inanycase,thescreenshouldalsonotaffectthemiddleregionofnormallifeutilization.Screeningandthedecisiontoapplyascreentoaproductprocessshouldneverbearequirement.Itshouldbedesignatedasanoptionoranalternative.Onceproducttestingidentifiesafailuremechanisminapopulationorsub-populationofaproduct,screeningtoremovethatmechanismisonlyonealternative.Equallyvalid,andinmostcasespreferable,isthealternativetomakedesignormanufacturingprocessimprovementstoeliminatethemechanism.Obviously,anychangestotheproductarethenrevalidated,andthescreenisrevalidatedaswell.However,thedecisiontochoosewhethertoscreenorimprovetheproductshouldbebasedoneconomics,customerexpectations,andproductuse.
